President Martinez-Ingle is pleased to announce our CFT Pride of the Union recipients, Jocelyn Espinosa, Todd Zola, and Monica Sorenson.  Our three recipients were recognized at the CFT Convention in Oakland this month.

                                                    Jocelyn Espinosa - Educational Issues
Jocelyn Espinosa has served on the ERFT Executive Board, the ERFT Special Education Committee, and the ERFT Community School Committee.  She has served on the CFT Early Childhood Committee.  She keeps abreast of legislative issues and has utilized her knowledge not only in sharing this information with her local and her colleagues but also in helping to craft resolutions to be presented at CFT Conventions for the CFT Early Childhood Committee.  Additionally, she has represented our local during CFT Lobby Days, speaking with legislators on the topics of importance to our Union and advocating for the children of California.

Todd Zola - Emerging Union Leadership
Todd Zola has served on the ERFT Executive Board, in the ERFT House of Representatives, and on the ERFT Bargaining Team.  As a member of our Bargaining Team, Todd has served with dilligence; helping to analyze district budgets and salary schedules so that we could use this information to craft strong contract language.  Todd is currently training to take over the reins as ERFT's Chief Negotiator.  Additionally, he has represented our local in Sacramento, speaking with legislators on the topics of importance to our Union and advocating for the children of California.

Monica Sorenson - Dedicated Unionist
Monica Sorenson has served as a Site Representative and as such, served with diligence.  As a member of our Union, Monica has always responded to the call. She is there to contribute to important discussions.  She has done research for our local that can then be utilized during negotiations and in helping craft our message to our members and the district, and when a strong, articulate speaker is needed, Monica can always be counted on.  She is there to speak at Board meetings and at meetings throughout the district on topics of importance to our Union and the children of California.
