2017-18 Negotiations Tentative Agreement

The El Rancho Federation of Teachers is pleased to announce our 2017 CFT Pride of the Union recipients.

Lilia Carreon, Clifford Craft, Rosa Delgado, Jocelyn Espinosa, and Margaret Martinez-Ingle are our five recipients. They were recognized at the 2017 CFT Convention in Sacramento on April 2.

Lilia Carreon - Dedicated Unionist
Lilia Carreon has been a long standing member of the El Rancho Federation of Teachers.  She has served with diligence on the El Rancho Federation of Teachers Executive Board, as a member of our Bargaining Team, as a School Site Representative, and as chair of our Elections Committee.  She is there to contribute to important discussions, helping to analyze the cause and effects of important issues facing our local, our profession and the students and families of the community we serve. She has played an important role in helping to craft our message to our members and the district in which we work.  Additionally, she has represented our local in Sacramento, speaking with legislators on topics of importance to our Union and advocating for the children of California. 

Clifford Craft - Emerging Union Leadership
Clifford Craft is a new member on the El Rancho Federation of Teachers Executive Board.  He has served with diligence.  He is there to contribute to important discussions, helping to analyze the cause and effects of important issues facing our local, our profession and the students and families of the community we serve. He has played an important role in helping to craft our message to our members and the district in which we work. When a strong, articulate speaker is needed, Clifford can always be counted on.  He has served on ERFT's  Safe Haven Resolution Committee and was an integral part of developing this important resolution.  Additionally, he has represented our local in Sacramento, speaking with legislators on topics of importance to our Union and advocating for the children of California. 

Jocelyn Espinosa - Educational Issues
Jocelyn Espinosa has served on the El Rancho Federation of Teachers Executive Board, the ERFT Special Education Committee, the ERFT Community Schools Committee and as a School Site Representative.  She has served on the CFT Early Childhood Committee. She keeps  abreast of legislative issues and has utilized her knowledge not only in sharing this information with our local and her colleagues, but also in helping to craft resolutions to be presented at CFT Conventions for the CFT Early Childhood Committee.  Additionally, she has represented our local during CFT Lobby Days speaking with legislators on topics of importance to our Union and advocating for the children of California. 

Rosa Delgado - Political Involvement
Rosa Delgado has been a long standing member of the El Rancho Federation of Teachers.  She has been there to contribute to important discussions, helping to analyze the cause and effects of important issues facing the students and families of the community we serve. She has most recently spoken out as a community member on the disatisfaction of many with the decisions of the School District to open a Magnet High School, to push for a new bond initiative and a new parcel tax initiative.  She has been a strong and articulate speaker, not only at School Board Meetings, but also with community members on a one to one basis.  She has worked together with the ERFT has been a voice to be reckoned with in local elections.

Margaret Martinez-Ingle - Union Activism
Margaret Martinez-Ingle has been a long standing member of the El Rancho Federation of Teachers.  She has served with diligence on the El Rancho Federation of Teachers Executive Board as ERFT Secretary, ERFT Vice-President, and ERFT President.  She has served as a member of our Bargaining Team, as a School Site Representative, and as a member of our Elections Committee.  Also, Margaret has served on the ERFT Community Schools Committee and as a union representative on numerous School District Committees.  She has served on the CFT Early Childhood Committee. She keeps  abreast of legislative issues and has utilized her knowledge not only in sharing this information with our local and her colleagues, but also in helping to craft resolutions to be presented at CFT Conventions for the CFT Early Childhood Committee. She is there to contribute to important discussions, helping to analyze the cause and effects of important issues facing our local, our profession and the students and families of the community we serve. She has played an important role in helping to craft our message to our members and the district in which we work.  Additionally, she has represented our local in Sacramento, speaking with legislators on topics of importance to our Union and advocating for the children of California.  During her tenure as President of ERFT, she has encouraged membership involvement and training at all levels and has has worked on building an infastructure that will be ready for tomorrow's challenges.   

CFT Pride of the Union Award Recipients

President Martinez-Ingle is pleased to announce our CFT Pride of the Union recipients, Jocelyn Espinosa, Todd Zola, and Monica Sorenson.  Our three recipients were recognized at the CFT Convention in Oakland this month.


                                                    Jocelyn Espinosa - Educational Issues
    Jocelyn Espinosa has served on the ERFT Executive Board, the ERFT Special Education Committee, and the ERFT Community School Committee.  She has served on the CFT Early Childhood Committee.  She keeps abreast of legislative issues and has utilized her knowledge not only in sharing this information with her local and her colleagues but also in helping to craft resolutions to be presented at CFT Conventions for the CFT Early Childhood Committee.  Additionally, she has represented our local during CFT Lobby Days, speaking with legislators on the topics of importance to our Union and advocating for the children of California.






Todd Zola - Emerging Union Leadership
    Todd Zola has served on the ERFT Executive Board, in the ERFT House of Representatives, and on the ERFT Bargaining Team.  As a member of our Bargaining Team, Todd has served with dilligence; helping to analyze district budgets and salary schedules so that we could use this information to craft strong contract language.  Todd is currently training to take over the reins as ERFT's Chief Negotiator.  Additionally, he has represented our local in Sacramento, speaking with legislators on the topics of importance to our Union and advocating for the children of California.



Monica Sorenson - Dedicated Unionist
    Monica Sorenson has served as a Site Representative and as such, served with diligence.  As a member of our Union, Monica has always responded to the call. She is there to contribute to important discussions.  She has done research for our local that can then be utilized during negotiations and in helping craft our message to our members and the district, and when a strong, articulate speaker is needed, Monica can always be counted on.  She is there to speak at Board meetings and at meetings throughout the district on topics of importance to our Union and the children of California.
